I have been giving life-classes to Sixth Form students for many years. I aim to strike a balance of refined control and gestural bravery. I believe it’s important in some sessions to slow-down the observation process and methodically build the form. At other times I like to explore the form with more unusual tools and techniques e.g. long sticks and ink on wet paper. Many students choose to develop their studies into ambitious painted or sculpted works.
